Economics Majors Win Best Student Paper Contest at Pennsylvania Economic Association Conference

At the 2019 Pennsylvania Economic Association Conference, held May 30–June 1 at Kutztown University, honors-track economics majors Kaitlin Albright and Jesalyn Fada presented “How Demographic and Economic Variables Affect the Female Labor Force Participation Rate.”

Albright and Fada won the PEA 2019 Best Undergraduate Student Paper Award and received a $300 cash prize.

Their paper will be published in an upcoming issue of the Pennsylvania Economic Review. 

This marks the sixth time that IUP economics majors have won first prize in the PEA Best Undergraduate Student Paper Contest and brings IUP’s total to nine PEA awards since 2011.

The research for the winning paper was supervised by James Jozefowicz.
