Teaching Opportunity at IUP International Partner Institution

The IUP Office of International Education is seeking IUP faculty to apply for a short teaching opportunity at Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara, Turkey, as part of the Erasmus+ Grant.  

Teaching Activity

  • Must be a total of minimum of eight hours for a week.
  • Must take place during one week.
  • Selected participant will determine their dates of visit with the hosting department during the active course/exam period:
    • September 23, 2019–January 14, 2020
    • February 3, 2020–May, 22, 2020 
  • Choose maximum of two departments at METU where teaching activity can be conducted.

Applicants Must

  • Actively teach at IUP at the time of application.
  • Be employed for teaching and lecturing at IUP.
  • Submit application:
    • Submit application page as a Word document to Jessica Mulvihill, jess@iup.edu, no later than 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, October 6, 2019.
    • No paper applications will be accepted.
    • Submit a cover letter addressing: how you will use this experience to help promote and aid in the existing IUP-METU relationship for future student mobility.

Miscellaneous 

  • Priority will be given to applicants who have no or limited travel to/work in Turkey.
  • The award funds up to 1,500 Euros for travel and 140 Euros/day stipend for living, for seven days.
    • Participants will be informed about on- and off-campus accommodation options. Accommodation costs will be covered by the participants as part of the daily stipend. 
  • IUP nomination committee will select one applicant for nomination to METU.
  • Final selection is at the discretion of METU. It is possible for METU academic departments not to accept the applications because of the limited departmental capacity or the incompatibility between the field of the applicants and the present fields of interest in our academic departments.
