The IUP Libraries is launching the “Adopt a Rare Book” program to support the repair and preservation of selected books in the Pennsylvania Collection and the Rare Book Collection. These important resources are part of the IUP Special Collections and University Archives. located in Stapleton Library, Room 302.
Donations support the professional conservation of rare books that are used for instruction and research purposes by students, university employees, alumni, and visiting researchers. There are several levels of support to choose from, including the deacidification of the text, the creation of a custom clamshell box, and the complete conservation of a book that needs significant repair.
To make a donation and help save a rare book, visit the Adopt A Rare Book page.
If you have questions about the program, please contact Harrison Wick, Special Collections librarian and university archivist, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
