Hsiao Publishes Article on Dietary Patterns and Fertility

Pao Ying HsiaoPao Ying Hsiao, PhD, RDN, LDN, associate professor in the IUP Department of Food and Nutrition, along with June Fung (Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center), Diane Mitchell (Pennsylvania State University), Terryl Hartman (Emory University), and Marlene Goldman (Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center), published “Dietary quality, as measured by the Alternative Healthy Eating Index for Pregnancy (AHEI-P), in couples planning their first pregnancy” in Public Health Nutrition (May 2019).

This research study is the first to examine use of a dietary assessment score, called the Alternative Healthy Eating Index for Pregnancy score, and achievement of clinical pregnancy in nulliparous couples.
