Lillenstein and Elmquist Receive College of Education and Communications Scholarship Awards

Program cover for the College of Education and Communications’ 2019 Alumni, Faculty, and Student Scholarship ReceptionOn October 17, 2019, IUP’s College of Education and Communications held its 2019 Alumni, Faculty, and Student Scholarship Reception.

Alumnus David Lillenstein was awarded the Impact Award for his contributions to the field of school psychology. He was a previous graduate of the IUP School Psychology doctoral program and is a current school psychologist for the Derry Township School District. He is also president of the Association of School Psychologists of Pennsylvania.

Current IUP doctoral student Dana Elmquist received the 2019 College of Education and Communications Student Research award. Elmquist, who is currently working in the Smethport Area School District, has co-authored one newsletter and one juried work on social media use and mental health among youth and adolescents.

While visiting campus, Lillenstein and Elmquist met with students, faculty, and staff for an informal meet-and-greet.
