In November 2019, Carrie Cole (associate professor of Theatre and assistant chair, Department of Theatre, Dance and Performance) was nominated and elected to the Board of Trustees of the Network of Ensemble Theaters. Cole has been an individual member of NET for a number of years, and her advocacy was instrumental in the Department of Theatre, Dance, and Performance’s membership as an ensemble.

In the first year of her four-year term, Cole will focus on connecting with and engaging ensembles from outside of major cultural centers in the US. This work supports NET’s Core Values, which center on advocacy, knowledge-sharing, and creative sustainability.

The Network of Ensemble Theaters is “a national community of artists and arts organizations dedicated to collaborative creation” and “exists to propel ensemble theater practice to the forefront of culture and society.”
