Seniors Win at Butler Symphony Young Artist Competition

Two IUP seniors were winners at the recent 2009 Butler Symphony Young Artist Competition.

Steven Cosnek (B.F.A., Tenor) was voted “Audience Favorite” for his performance of the arias “Ach! So from” from Martha, “Lonely House” from Street Scene, “Il mio Tesoro” from Don Giovanni, “Ev’ry Valley” from Messiah, and the song “Come to Me, Bend to Me” from Brigadoon.

Justin Polyblank (B.S. Music Education) was selected to perform as soloist at the symphony’s March 14 concert. He will perform Claude Smith’s “Fantasia for Alto Saxophone and Orchestra.”
