Arpaia Elected to Council of Society of Fellows of American Academy in Rome

Dr. Paul Arpaia of the Department of History has been elected for a two-year term to the Council of the Society of Fellows of the American Academy in Rome.

As a council member, Dr. Arpaia will collaborate with other council members in providing support to the American Academy in Rome and its fellows, residents, and affiliates. He is particularly interested in sponsoring national and international events promoting the work of the fellows and the academy, including coordinating with other fellows in Modern Italian Studies, a scholarly publication for 2011 celebrating the centennial of the foundation of the American Academy and the sesquicentennial of the unification of Italy.
