Dr. John A. Rich will present a lecture, “Wrong Place, Wrong Time: Trauma and Violence in the Lives of Young Black Men,” on Tuesday, April 6, 2010, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the Eberly Auditorium.
Dr. Rich is a physician, professor, author, and MacArthur Grant recipient.
His presentation is the annual Pan-African Studies Lecture. This event is free and open to the public. Attendance vouchers will be provided.

On September 19, 2006, Dr. Rich was awarded a $500,000 MacArthur grant for his work in addressing the primary health care needs of young men in the inner city by designing clinical services and training programs. More recently, Dr. Rich also helped establish the Center for Nonviolence and Social Justice at Drexel. Supported by more than $1 million in grants, the center will focus on urban trauma as a public health issue and provide a program of healing for victims of violence.
