IUP Best Buddies raised nearly $3,000 to assist individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in the local community.
The IUP Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic will offer face-to-face speech and hearing screenings to meet the requirements of the three-step process to obtain teacher certification at IUP.
The IUP Speech-Language Pathology master’s degree program has been awarded continued accreditation through 2028 by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
The IUP Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic will offer virtual speech-language screenings via Zoom on Friday, March 19. Education majors working on the Three-Step Process to obtain teacher certification at IUP can sign up to fulfill the speech-language screening requirement.
Mariha Shields, Annah Hill, and Holly Rougeaux presented “A Community Outreach Makerspace that Empowers Students to Develop Assistive Technology Devices” on October 28 at the 2020 Pennsylvania Association of Colleges and Teacher Educators conference.
The master’s degree program in speech-language pathology is being reviewed for reaccreditation by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. IUP’s MS in Speech-Language Pathology program is currently under review for re-accreditation. We invite all stakeholders to participate in the review process by attending our public meeting either in person or via Zoom.

We will hold a public meeting for interested stakeholders to ask questions and provide comments or concerns regarding the program’s national accreditation status.
Each year, IUP's National Student Speech Language Hearing Association hosts Spaghetti for Smiles, a spaghetti dinner fundraiser. All of the proceeds raised during the event are donated directly to Operation Smile, an organization that helps fund surgeries for children born with cleft lip / cleft palate around the world.
