Join the IUP Career and Professional Development Center on Monday, March 27, at 6:00 p.m. in the Great Room in Elkin Hall for the workshop, “Company Culture: Why It’s Important and How to Determine if It Is the Right Culture for You and if You Are Right for It.” This event is also a part of the Six O’clock Series.
Every company has a culture; some are well-defined and intentional while others happen when no one is looking. IUP alumna and trustee Laurie Kuzneski will discuss how culture-focused companies evaluate potential new hires as well as what job seekers should consider before accepting any job offer.
The Career Ready Seminar Series is inspired by the National Association of Colleges and Employers career competencies. This type of intentional programming aims to provide targeted programming to help IUP students gain and understand the necessary skills and competencies to be successful, as they transition from higher education into the professional working world.
Tammy Manko, director of the IUP Career and Professional Development Center, is excited to have Laurie present to IUP students in this capacity. “We're fortunate to have IUP alumna and trustee Laurie Kuzneski presenting a program to our students and sharing her real-world business experience,” Manko said. “She will no doubt engage our students in a manner that has them thinking about how they can apply her lessons in their current and future life and work situations and gain skills and knowledge to best position themselves professionally."
