The Eberly Navigators, under the direction of Tracy VanHorn-Juart, delivered mid-semester notes and treat bags to the Stephenson Hall Business Living Learning Community on March 1, 2021.
The Eberly Navigators help first-year business students get connected and engaged in college organizations and events. In addition, through regularly scheduled meetings with students, they introduce them to the different offices that offer student services, such as the Career and Professional Development Center, the Center for Multicultural Student Leadership and Engagement (MCSLE), the Kathleen Jones White Writing Center, Office of Alumni and Friends, and many other campus contacts that support the development of key competencies for students.
Interim Dean Geofrey Mills joined VanHorn-Juart and the Navigators to deliver 75 bags to residents. He met Ryan Horner, a first-year accounting major. A quick connection between Ryan and the interim dean occurred when Ryan mentioned running on the IUP cross country team. Mills also ran cross country.
Pictured with Interim Dean Mills are Taylor Friedman (second from left), a sophomore accounting major, and Sheyla Paez (far right), a sophomore international business major, both who serve as Eberly Navigators within the Center for Leadership and Academic Student Support Office in Eberly. Abby Varnicle, a junior human resource management major and Stephenson Hall resident director, assisted with the distribution of treat bags.
Another visit to the Stephenson Hall Living Learning Community will occur near the end of the semester.
