Prepare for a Variety of Roles in the Fitness Industry

Through the Master of Science in Strength and Conditioning program, you will be prepared for a range of positions—from a strength and conditioning coach to a private fitness business owner to a sports performance coach to a personal trainer.

 

Where You’ll Work

Your work in the fitness industry could take you to a college or high school or to a professional, recreational, tactical, or corporate setting. You may work in a strength and conditioning facility with athletes from a variety of sports or with tactical personnel, such as police, firefighters, emergency medical technicians, or members of the military.

Classes and Requirements

Through the MS in Strength and Conditioning program, you will gain the academic foundation, applied skills, and practical experience necessary to meet the evolving demands of the strength and conditioning profession.

The program’s student-centered learning offers many opportunities for hands-on, practical experiences.

Its multimodal format also gives you flexibility as you complete the program requirements.

Experiential Learning

You will learn and apply your skills using up-to-date equipment and technology in the classroom, laboratory, and field setting.

Your hands-on learning will include two separate, high-quality internship experiences. Internships involve a variety of settings and populations.

Timeline to Completion

This program starts in the fall and is completed within one calendar year over the fall, spring, and summer terms.

Thesis and Assistantship Options

Graduate assistantships are available. You will also have the option of completing a thesis.
