Everyone at IUP is invited to a series of virtual public meetings to help plan the future of Wayne Avenue.
The Wayne Avenue corridor from Philadelphia Street to PA 954 South 6th Street is a key route for IUP students, Indiana residents, and visitors. The Indiana community, spearheaded by Indiana Regional Medical Center and Indiana County, are developing a Wayne Avenue Multimodal Plan. The goal is to improve access to healthcare, education, special events, and recreational opportunities while alsoimproving pedestrian and bicycle safety, transit access, and parkingall with an eye toward enhancing economic development.
As part of the planning process, you are invited to participate in the Virtual Public Meetings scheduled for October 6 though October 8, 2020. Discussions throughout the three days will include:
- future land use
- development and preservation
- walkability
- traffic flow
- connections to and from surrounding neighborhoods and regional assets
