Held annually, this event is the premier scholarship fundraising event, with funds being used to support the recruitment and retention of students in the Eberly College of Business. The event provides an excellent opportunity for alumni, business partners, and friends of IUP to network while raising important scholarship funds.
Alumni cochairs Mary Morgan ’91 and Cyndy Strittmatter ’83, M’87 worked in collaboration with alumnus Nadav Baum ’86 to coordinate the event.
Among the 80 golfers at the Business Golf Classic were 40 IUP alumni.
The two primary corporate sponsors were Aramark and Walmart, both Gold Level Sponsors for this year’s Business Golf Classic.
Legacy sponsors included Nadav Baum ’86, Terry Dunlap ’81, Terry Serafini ’61, Tim Wallace ’79, and Tom Wallace ’80.
In addition to sincere appreciation for the Gold Level Sponsors and Legacy Sponsors, the IUP Eberly College of Business recognizes the following sponsors:
First Commonwealth Bank, Douds Furniture, Kits Brokerage, Inc., East Penn Manufacturing, ePlus Technology, Inc., Baker Hughes, IUP Athletics, Indiana Regional Medical Center, Sisterson Certified Public Accountants, United States Steel, the Quinn Family, PNC, the Student Co-op, and the Reschini Group.
Numerous participants and tee sponsors also contributed to the success of the event.
At the evening reception, Prashanth Bharadwaj, interim dean of the Eberly College of Business, expressed his gratitude to the sponsors and participants of the event. He discussed how important scholarship funds were to students and how alumni support demonstrated commitment to IUP and to student success.
Baum, event chairperson, shared why he felt it was so important to give back to IUP, his alma mater. “My wife, Nancy, and I are fortunate enough to be able to give back to our community and other causes that are important to us. Helping IUP is top of the list for us. We have so many fond memories of IUP and built so many great relationships. For us to help students that might not be able to afford to go to IUP and help them get to the finish line is very rewarding.”
Bharadwaj was appreciative of the scholarship event, saying, “I continue to be grateful to the legacy sponsors for their long-term support to this fun-filled annual event that raises money for scholarships for Eberly students. This year’s event would not have been possible without the volunteerism and diligence of IUP alumni Nadav Baum, Mary Morgan, and Cyndy Strittmatter. My sincere thanks to them and to each one of the golfers and sponsors! Their support will have a significant impact on the education and lives of many students.”
