On April 11, 12, and 13, the new IUP Graphic Design and Illustration program is hosting the first annual Slenkfest. The event is named after IUP’s first graphic design professor, Robert Slenker.
Slenkfest is a multiday series of events designed to be a nexus of interaction between current graphic design and illustration students and IUP alumni currently working in the field of visual design. Events will celebrate and share the program's high quality and alumni successes with the university and public community.
Susan Burig, Marvel Cinematic Universe Graphic Designer
On Thursday, April 11, at 6:00 p.m. in McVitty Auditorium (Sprowls Hall), IUP graphic design alumna Susan Burig will discuss her career as a lead graphic designer for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, working on movies such as Ant-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, and more. Special Marvel film swag will be raffled off at the conclusion of her presentation!

Energy and Color: Thirty Years of Illustration by John Ritter
On Friday, April 12, at 7:00 p.m., IUP graphic design alumnus John Ritter will present a comprehensive exhibition of his 30-year editorial illustration career. John has created award-winning artwork for the New Yorker, Time, Harper’s, Oprah, Smithsonian, National Geographic, Honda Motor Company, Rolling Stone, and more.
