Recently retired biology professor and university volunteer Tom Simmons moderated a session and gave two talks at the fiftieth anniversary Pennsylvania Vector Control Association meeting, held in State College, PA, from October 21 to 23.

The titles of his talks were "Go West, Young Tick! A Historical Perspective on Blacklegged Ticks and Lyme Disease in Western PA" and "Beyond Fido: Trials and Tribulations of a Lyme Disease Vaccine for Humans."

The meeting was attended by local, county, and state employees, university faculty, other members of the research community, and industry representatives working in fields related to disease vector control.
