The IUP Career and Professional Development Center is now partnering with QuadJobs as a service to students and employers.
QuadJobs is an online platform that promotes pre-professional local, temporary work opportunities for IUP students. In response to current conditions, remote opportunities are now available and growing! Students can create a free account atQuadJobsusing their IUP email.
Positions range from babysitting, party help, tutoring, and office work to furniture moving, errands, dog walking, and more.
In order to register for QuadJobs, students will need to complete a brief profile to find jobs that match their interests and availability based on employers' needsit's a great way to gain real-world experience and make a little money.
Tammy Manko, director of the CPDC, is impressed with the enhanced security offered by QuadJobs in an effort to prohibit scam jobs being advertised to IUP students. "The creators of QuadJobs monitor all jobs posted and remove any that look suspicious," Manko said.
Certain job categoriesraise red flags and usually require follow-up to ensure credibility. The QuadJobs system requires employers to enter a valid credit card in order to post a job, since studies suggest that up to 95 percent of potential fraudulent posts are avoided by requiring credit cards.
According to Manko, "The system also has a report a job' button on the site so that students can have a job/employer removed immediately if they feel something is not right."
