At the Association for Specialists in Group Work Conference in Puerto Rico, two Department of Counseling faculty and a doctoral student were presented with awards.
Lorraine Guth received the ASGW Presidential Award in recognition of outstanding service to the organization. She is currently serving on the ASGW Executive Board as the process observer and co-chair of the Special Initiatives Committee.
The M. Carolyn Thomas Outstanding Branch Award was given to the Pennsylvania Association for Specialists in Group Work. Ashley Coombs, current PASGW president and IUP CES doctoral student, and Brittany Pollard, current PASGW secretary/treasurer, accepted the award on behalf of the branch.
