David Wachob, professor and chair of the Department of Career and Wellness Education, recently visited the Robinson School in San Juan, PR, to secure a student teaching agreement for IUP students. Starting in fall 2025, teacher education majors will be able to complete part of their student teaching semester in San Juan after finishing a placement in Pennsylvania.

The school was selected based on its history, resources, and student-centeredness. Located on a beautiful four-acre campus in the heart of San Juan, the school provides many opportunities and accommodations for IUP students.

Robinson School is the first English-speaking and college-preparatory school in Puerto Rico. Education at Robinson strongly emphasizes community service and philanthropy. Their facilities promote academic, athletic, and artistic excellence and allow our students to flourish and excel.

In recent years, Wachob has worked with the College of Education and Human Services to expand international opportunities for teacher education students. This is an exciting partnership with the Robinson School, and the College looks forward to sending highly qualified candidates to represent IUP.

Wachob is also working on an English-speaking partner school in Rome as another option for students. The goal is to partner with a few select schools around the world to build lasting relationships where IUP students can participate in safe, unique, and memorable experiences.
