The Naval Research Enterprise Internship Program is now accepting applications for summer 2025 internship positions through November 1, 2024.
Internship Program Details
Eligibility
- Enrolled full-time at a four-college or university (exceptions available for students attending two-year colleges)
- Must be a US citizen (exceptions available for permanent residents or dual citizens)
- Must have completed 31 credits prior to start of the internship
- Demonstrated interest in subjects of study relevant to lab research
Stipends
- New undergraduate student participants: $7,500
- Returning undergraduate students (students must have completed a full 10-week program in a prior year to receive this level): $9,000
- Graduate students (students must currently be in graduate school and taking graduate school courses to receive this level): $11,500
NREIP Goals
- Encourage students to pursue DON science and engineering careers
- Enhance education with mentoring by laboratory scientists and engineers
- Enable students to participate in meaningful STEM research
- Expose students to opportunities in DON science and technology and to research and development
- Increase DON STEM internship opportunities for underrepresented groups
