    A minor in Economics will help you branch out after graduation, opening up opportunities your major alone might not give you. Here are just a few majors that work well with this minor:

    • Mathematics
    • International Business
    • Journalism
    • Political Science

    To complete a minor in Economics, a student must complete 18 credits in Economics (see guidelines below). The Department of Economics will substitute MATH 214/216/217 in place of ECON 355.

    To ensure proper credit, students should complete a minor application, or in the Department of Economics office. A student must maintain a minimum 2.00 GPA in Economics.

    Required Courses:

    • ECON 121 Principles of Macroeconomics (3cr)
    • ECON 122 Principles of Microeconomics (3cr)
    • Four courses from ECON 200 or higher (12cr) but at least 6 of these credits must be from ECON 300 or higher
