When a student chooses to join a fraternity or sorority, they will join a chapter, and each chapter is governed by one council. At IUP there are three councils, each with a unique recruitment process. All recruitment is deferred,
which means that students may participate in the recruitment process only when they meet the following criteria:

Interfraternity Council (IFC) recruitment is open to students meeting the deferred recruitment criteria.
Fall 2021 recruitment is just around the corner. Eligible students interested in fall fraternity recruitment are encouraged to watch for late August and early September IFC interest events. Students may also express interest via the link below.

Fall 2021 sorority recruitment will kick off on Wednesday, September 8, followed by a round-robin weekend to see all chapters on Saturday, September 11, and Sunday, September 12. Interested students are encouraged to be on the lookout for late August and early September Panhellenic interest events to learn more about our 11 Panhellenic sororities.

The United Greek Council does not organize a council-wide intake or recruitment event. Individual chapters are responsible for their intake. Watch social media and look around campus for flyers about interest meetings for individual chapters.
