Because of ongoing developments and updates regarding the coronavirus, we urge you to stay alert to travel advisories, restrictions, cancellations, and recommendations from the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The coronavius COVID-19 causes an illness that ranges from mild to severe. The symptoms can include a fever, cough, and difficulty breathing. There is no vaccine to prevent the disease. It is crucial that you take every day preventative actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, including:
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
- Stay home when you are sick.
- Cover your cough or sneeze into a tissue, then throw the tissue into the trash.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating, after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
- If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces, including cell phones and keyboards, with a regular household cleaner.
- CDC does not recommend wearing a face mask if you are feeling well.
- Facemasks should be used by people who are having respiratory symptoms to prevent the spread of disease.
- Healthcare workers and people taking care of anyone that is ill should wear facemasks.
