Indiana University of Pennsylvania is committed to ensuring that our campus is a safe place for learning, living, and working. In accordance with the IUP Protection of Minors policy, all events involving minors, both on the IUP campus and those that occur off campus but are sponsored by IUP, must be registered with the university using our Event Registry web page.
It is imperative the registration process begins at least 30 days before the day of the event.
Events Involving Minors Which Do Not Need to be Registered
-
Events on university property that are open to the general public which minors attend at the sole discretion of their parents or legal guardians;
-
Private events held on university property where minors attend under parental or legal guardian supervision; or
-
Other programs as may be designated by the university president or designated official in advance and in writing as exempt from this policy or specific provisions of this policy.
Each event/program is required to have a program administrator (or sponsor). The program administrator’s duties and responsibilities outlined in the program administrator guide include, but are not limited to:
-
Completing the event registration
-
Verifying each authorized adult/volunteer meets the requirements to participate (appropriate background clearances and training). Per university background investigation policy, no authorized adult may participate without current clearances.
Sample materials and forms can also be found in the program administrator guide.
If the event requires the use of campus facilities, please refer to the University Facility Use Guidelines and Procedures to lease facilities.
Questions regarding the policy or the event registration process can be directed to the Office of Human Resources at 724-357-2431 or by email at human-resources@iup.edu.
