Dana Driscoll, Mary Stewart, and Matthew Vetter of the English Department are currently serving as co-editors of the peer-reviewed, open educational textbook Writing Spaces. They are proud to announce the release of Volume 3 of Writing Spaces.
Volumes in Writing Spaces: Readings on Writing offer multiple perspectives on a wide range of topics about writing. In each chapter, authors present their unique views, insights, and strategies for writing by addressing the undergraduate reader directly in concise and clear terms.
The 13 essays in Volume 3 represents a range of exigencies, contexts, and practices for writers. Broader chapters on the exigencies of writing include understanding visual rhetoric and multimedia composing. Chapters exploring writing contexts include understanding discourse communities, writing in global contexts, and constructing scholarly ethos in composition classrooms. It also offers a number of essays on writing practices, including the rhetorical effects of punctuation, source credibility, stylistic concerns, and understanding meaningful peer response.
All volumes in the series are published under a Creative Commons license and are available for download at the Writing Spaces website, Parlor Press, and WAC Clearinghouse.
