Abstract
For readers new to Tristram Shandy, especially those undergraduates not yet baptized in the rollicking waters of eighteenth-century narrative, the digressive practice can be challenging to navigate, let alone appreciate and enjoy. This article presents a three-phase assignment structure intended to help undergraduates understand and participate in the formal innovations of Sterne's classic experimental text.
