The English Department is proud of Dalia SeifAllah and Onesmo Mushi, both in the MA Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages program, as they were selected as new members for the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.
Phi Kappa Phi is the oldest and most selective multidisciplinary honor society across the country. It's also the largest, with over 300 campuses in the US and the Philippines and with about 30,000 new members initiated every year. Admission into the society is by invitation only, and graduate students must be ranked in the top 10 percent of their class to be eligible. PKP is part of a consortium of the most prestigious honor societies in the US, and an invitation to join indicates recognition of a student's accomplishments and personal character.
SeifAllah is an international graduate student from Egypt, currently in her final semester of the MA TESOL program. She will graduate in spring 2021 and has been admitted into the Composition and Applied Linguistics PhD program at IUP. She is excited to have been invited to join Phi Kappa Phi.
Mushi is a Fulbright scholar from Tanzania, also in his final semester of the MA TESOL program. He will graduate in spring 2021. He is honored to have received this invitation, crediting Gloria Park, Dana Driscoll, Cristina Snchez-Martn, Curt Porter, and other faculty members in the English Department for encouraging him in his academic and professional endeavors.
