Shijuan "Laurel" Liu organized the film screening of Confetti, a film related to interculture, language learning, early childhood education, and special education (dyslexia). The onsite screening was held on April 29, 2022. IUP community members, including incoming students, can sign up for a virtual pass to watch the film online (valid before May 25).
Additionally, interested members can attend the upcoming presentation and interact with the award-winning film director, Ann Hu, who is also the director, screenplay writer, and producer of the films Shadow Magic (2000) and Beauty Remains (2005). The event, as a partial celebration of the 2022 Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month, is funded by the Dr. Yu-Chen Liu Memorial Chinese-American Scholarship through the Foundation for IUP, the Asian Studies program, and the Center for Multicultural Student Leadership and Engagement.
