Shijuan Liu gave an invited keynote speech at the 2024 ChinaCALL Conference and International Congress on English Language Education and Applied Linguistics, held in Beijing, China, August 23–25.

The title of her speech was Teaching and Learning Languages Online After the Pandemic with Generative AI Technologies. Her presentation was well received. About 200 scholars from 11 countries attended the conference.
The conference was hosted by Computer-Assisted Language Learning Association, China Association for Comparative Studies of English and Chinese, organized by Institute of Online Education, Artificial Intelligence and Human Languages Lab, and Project of Discipline Innovation and Advancement-Foreign Language Education Studies at Beijing Foreign Studies University, Journal of China Computer-Assisted Language Learning, and Beijing Waiyan Online Digital Technology Co., Ltd., and cohosted by the Education University of Hong Kong, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, South China Normal University, and City University of Macau.
