Yongtao Cao of the Department of Mathematical and Computer Sciences will give two workshops on data analytics on March 21 and 28, 2024, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. in Stright Hall, room 320.

Data and analytics play a pivotal role in shaping businesses and society at large. In the field of data analytics, Python and Google Colab have proven to be invaluable assets in achieving good results. In this hands-on workshop, Cao will introduce participants to some basic data scientist skills, techniques, and concepts using popular Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Scikit-learn, and Statsmodels. Topics include an overview of Markdown in Google Colab, data importing, data wrangling, data visualization, hypothesis testing, and statistical modeling. The workshop will use Google Colab, so participants need to have a Google account.

Because this is a hands-on workshop, and computer space is limited, we ask that you register in advance.
