Student Inclusion Office

The executive director of Student Inclusion leads efforts to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students at IUP. By ensuring that equity and diversity are celebrated, the office works to foster an atmosphere where every student feels empowered to succeed. This office oversees a variety of initiatives that provide opportunities for student engagement and leadership, while also advocating for students’ needs and experiences. Key programs include Diversity Peer Educators, nonresidential affinity groups, and comprehensive data collection on student participation and expectations.

Multicultural Student Support

The director of Multicultural and LGBTQIA+ Student Support coordinates a wide array of activities that promote cultural understanding and engagement across campus. Focused on enhancing the academic and social success of students from diverse backgrounds, this office is at the forefront of organizing cultural events, programs, and advocacy efforts. It also plays a vital role in supporting underrepresented groups, helping to ensure students feel included and supported throughout their academic journey.

LGBTQIA+ Support

Student Life is a key resource for LGBTQIA+ students, offering advocacy, resources, and a safe, affirming space through the LGBTQIA+ Support Office. This office provides educational programs, community-building activities, and individual support services aimed at empowering LGBTQIA+ students to thrive both personally and academically. By fostering inclusivity, it helps to ensure that all gender identities and sexual orientations are respected and celebrated at IUP.

Student Leadership

The Student Leadership director oversees a wide range of initiatives aimed at fostering leadership development across campus. This office is responsible for overseeing all student organizations and clubs, providing students with opportunities to take on active roles within the university community. Through programs like Emerging Leaders, leadership conferences, and service learning opportunities, students are encouraged to grow as leaders and develop essential skills. These experiences empower students to engage in impactful work that not only contributes to the university’s success but also enhances their personal and professional growth.

Fraternity and Sorority Life

The director of Fraternity and Sorority Life at IUP provides a vibrant, supportive community for students seeking lifelong connections and leadership opportunities. These organizations are integral to campus life, contributing to a culture of service, scholarship, and social engagement. Through their involvement, members develop strong networks and leadership capabilities, while also participating in community service and campus-wide events that enrich their overall student experience.

Elkin Hours of Operation

  • Office is open Monday–Friday: 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. (8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. summer hours)
  • Elkin Building is open Monday–Friday: 8:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m.
  • **Elkin will be closed for Winter Break**

Folger Student Center 

Folger Student Center is an area dedicated to catering to the needs of students, offering spaces for socializing, studying, food services during Folger After Dark, and recreational areas. This area is open to commuters and students residing both on and off campus. Students can stop in and grab a bagged lunch, relax, engage in group project work, or shoot pool. Vending is also available!

Folger After Dark is our late-night destination at Folger Student Center from 8:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. With a large variety of snacks and late-night dinner choices, Folger After Dark has meal exchange options and accepts cash equivalency.

  • Monday-Thursday: 11:00 a.m.–1:00 a.m.
  • Friday: 11:00 a.m.–11:00 p.m.
  • Saturday: 10:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
  • Sunday: Noon–1:00 a.m.

Parent of Cook Honors College Student, Author of Book in Honor of Late Son, to Present Program at IUP on Oct. 23

The father of a late Indiana University of Pennsylvania 2020 Cook Honors College graduate will be at IUP on October 23 to talk about his book, "What’s Good About TODAY? A Purpose Driven Life," written to honor his son, Christian Cochran.
