The IUP Council of Trustees will present the family of Stephen J. Mayhle, one of three Pittsburgh police officers killed in the line of duty April 4, 2009, with a resolution in his memory.

The presentation to the parents, widow, and children of Mayhle, a 2002 IUP graduate, will take place Friday, May 1, at 1:30 p.m. in the Blue Room, on the first floor of IUP's Sutton Hall.

The Council of Trustees, the university's governing body, will present the resolution during its regular meeting, which is open to the public.

Also to be presented are a resolution in memory of longtime trustee David Johnson, who died in February, and resolutions honoring three Distinguished Faculty Award winners, a member of the IUP women's basketball team, two graduating student leaders, and Dr. Robert O. Davies, the departing vice president for University Relations and executive director of the Foundation for IUP.
