Indiana University of Pennsylvania will present its second annual Supplier Diversity Fair on September 22, 2009, from 10:00 a.m. to noon. The program is free and open to the community.
The program will be held in the Hadley Union Building Ohio Room. It is presented by the Office of Social Equity and Civic Engagement and the Office of Procurement Services, both of IUP.
The program is designed to assist in the development of greater business opportunities for companies owned by women, disabled-service veterans, and underrepresented minorities. The program is also intended to increase business-to-business alliances and initiatives among all IUP suppliers. Approximately twenty businesses are expected to participate in the event.
Presenters include Dr. Cornelius Wooten, vice president for Administration and Finance at IUP; Dr. Tony Atwater, IUP president; Elizabeth Bowers, regional director, Pennsylvania Department of General Services; Robert Bowser, director of Procurement Services at IUP; and Jimmy Myers, director of the Office of Social Equity and Civic Engagement.
Other special guests include Donna Putt, broker-owner of Putt Real Estate, and Beth Gregg, president of Environmental Service Laboratory and chair of the Indiana County Women's Commission.
