Following a national search, Vice President for Administration and Finance Cornelius Wooten has been selected as vice chancellor of Administration and Finance for North Carolina Central University.
Wooten will begin his duties at NCCU on December 3. His last day at IUP will be November 30.
“Dr. Wooten has helped to navigate the financial challenges that IUP has faced with absolute integrity, creativity, and attention to not just the bottom line, but with an understanding of the importance of meeting our mission,” IUP President Michael Driscoll said. “I will miss the good advice that he has given to all of us, and his careful management of university assets. We wish him all the best going forward.”
In his role at NCCU, Wooten will supervise all of NCCU's facilities and maintenance operations and the budgetary and accounting activities, including the Purchasing and Central Receiving departments, the Environmental and Health and Safety offices, and Business and Auxiliary Services. Additionally, Wooten will be a key contributor to strategic initiatives and development of university policies.
“I feel very honored for the opportunity to have served as a servant leader at IUP for over a decade,” Wooten said. “IUP made many positive advancements during my tenure. Our accomplishments were indeed a team effort.”
