Indiana University of Pennsylvania's Council of Trustees today presented a resolution of appreciation to Caleb King, who has served as a member of the Council since May 29, 2017.

King, an applied mathematics and economics (honors track) double major in the Cook Honors College who will graduate on May 11, serves as chair of the Student Affairs Committee for the Council of Trustees.
Members of the Council of Trustees are volunteers appointed by the governor to be responsible for financial oversight of the university and for ensuring compliance of university policy with state law. The Council of Trustees meets quarterly and other times as needed.
In presenting the resolution, the Council expressed its “deepest appreciation to Caleb N. King for making the most of his IUP experience, for his leadership at the university and on the Council of Trustees, and for his service to all students.”
The resolution also recognized that King has represented the Council of Trustees at events of high visibility; served as a vocal representative of IUP and society at large during State System Advocacy Days; actively participated in campus life, including as the chief justice of Student Government Association, as a member of the Frederick Douglass Debate Team, as an IUP Ambassador, and as a Cook Honors College tour guide; and participated in 2017 and 2018 in Alternative Spring Break Program by helping to build hiking trails along Tennessee's Cumberland Trail.
He presented his research, “How to Keep Hitters off base in MLB,” at the Pennsylvania Sports Business Conference, the Undergraduate Scholars Forum, and the IUP Mathematics Colloquium. He also completed “Pay and Play—How Pitchers are Valued by MLB.”
He served as a student worker in the IUP Office of the Executive Assistant to the President for Government and Community Relations. He has volunteered with the Jim Kelly Football Camp each summer.
He completed an internship with PNC Financial Services Group in its Operational Risk Management department and will take a position there after graduation.
King, of East Brady, is the son of Steve King and Petula King. He is a 2015 graduate of Karns City High School.
