On January 31, IUP students, faculty, and staff will be invited to participate in the System-wide Climate Survey. The anonymous survey is designed to take the pulse of each university’s campus climate and will help IUP, as well as Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education, identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for continued growth.
The survey will be open to all IUP students, faculty, and staff between January 31 and March 4, 2022. Look for emails from Viewfinder, the system’s third-party partner for this survey, in your IUP inbox.
Students who participate in the survey will enter a drawing for $1,500 in prizes, including two grand prizes of $250 gift cards, five $100 gift cards, and ten $50 gift cards. Winners can choose whether they want to receive a gift card from the IUP Co-op Store or Amazon.
All 14 State System universities, as well as the Office of the Chancellor, will participate in the survey, marking the first time that all universities have administered the same climate survey at the same time. Grounded in the State System’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Strategy Framework, it will help IUP continue measuring our progress in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone.
No personal identifying information will be collected from any survey participant. In addition, confidentiality safeguards implemented by the State System and university levels are designed to protect participant anonymity.
Every voice at IUP matters. Increased participation will lead to more representative results, which helps the university’s effort to monitor and improve its campus climate.
If you have questions about the survey, contact Dr. Emily Howe, Manager of Special Projects, Research, and Reporting in Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education Office of DEI, at ehowe@passhe.edu.
The System-wide Climate Survey is the first of two important surveys for IUP students during the spring 2022 semester. Starting on March 8, IUP will again be among the 1,000+ universities to participate in the National Survey for Student Engagement. While the System-wide Climate Survey is open to the entire campus community, NSSE is specifically designed for first-year students and seniors.
