Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s Pan-African Studies program is sponsoring a free public presentation by the Ambassador of Mali to the United States, Sekou Berthé, on March 21 at 7:00 p.m. in Jane Leonard Hall, room B-11.
The presentation, “West and Central Africa at the Crossroads of Global Security Challenges,” is free and open to the community.
Ambassador Berthé will address how African governments work with American and European partners to address local rebels and international terrorist groups operating in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The Pan-African Studies program at IUP offers events, courses, and a minor, all of which focus on people of African descent throughout the world.
This multidisciplinary minor helps students enrich their cross-cultural studies by heightening their awareness of and sensitivity to cultural diversity and expanding their knowledge of contributions by persons of African heritage.
