Although taxonomy—the process of identifying and classifying all living organisms—has been going on for hundreds of years, scientists are still discovering new animals all over the globe. One of those scientists is Josiah Townsend, a faculty member in IUP’s Department of Biology who has uncovered the existence of more than 20 species while doing research with students in Honduras.
This production is episode 9 of the Innovators, a series about IUP students, faculty, and staff who are doing innovative things: new ideas, new ways of doing things, and new inventions.
