What’s a book you would recommend to someone who wanted to learn more about your academic field?

If I can choose only one book, I would recommend The Silent Language of Leaders, by Carol Kinsey Goman. I do a great deal of reading and presenting on the topic of nonverbal communication and leadership, and Goman’s books really provide a great deal of insightful information. This book offers information regarding nonverbal communication and how to use this to your advantage to demonstrate confidence, to read others’ body language accurately, and to communicate most effectively. If you’re looking for a book that will help you to be the professional you aspire to be, this one is a must-read!

Tammy Manko, director of the Career and Professional Development Center, has experience and expertise in body language and communication, professional networking, relationship building, leadership, career and talent-force readiness, customer service, change management, etiquette, positive psychology, and other professional development topics.
