Preparation for demolition work for five buildings on Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s Indiana campus is currently underway.
The demolition of these five buildings is part of the IUP Long-Range Facilities Master Plan; these projects are included in the original 2010 plan or added as part of the master plan updates in 2011, 2014, or 2017. The demolitions are Department of General Services projects.
Buildings to be razed are Reschini House, R&P office building, University Towers, Eicher Hall, and Pratt Hall. All of the offices and services in these buildings have been moved to other campus buildings.
In order to safely complete the demolition work, the parking lots at University Towers and Eicher Hall are closed and will remain closed for the duration of the project, which is estimated to continue through mid-December 2024.
Construction equipment will be moving in and out of these areas during the projects and construction vehicles will be active around these demolition projects.
Additional updates, including any changes impacting pedestrian or vehicular traffic, will be provided as information becomes available.
Questions about the project can be directed to Associate Director of Facilities Planning and Construction Steve Markiewicz at smarkiew@iup.edu.
