What's a book that means a lot to you?
This book is a historical fiction novel based on Hunter’s family members, who were Holocaust survivors. I was incredibly moved, chapter after chapter, as Hunter documents her family’s story of suffering and survival. The way Hunter tells the story made me feel as though I could see the scenes playing out in front of me. Family is very important to me, and this story so beautifully documents how powerful a motivator family can be, even in the most horrific times. The novel provides a greater appreciation and sense of understanding of the difficulties that those who are displaced from their homes experience, even today.
