Chancellor Brogan's Welcome Letter

Dear Colleagues,

Welcome, and thank you for attending the 2016 Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education Summit.

This year’s summit, with the theme, “Inclusive Excellence and International Education Rising to the Challenge: Making Inclusion Matter,” represents an excellent opportunity for you and your colleagues to share experiences, to listen and learn from each other, and to help advance the State System on behalf of students.

We spend considerable time and effort working toward ensuring our campuses are inclusive, and for good reason. Inclusiveness does matter. It matters to our students, it matters to our faculty, it matters to our staff, and it matters to our campus communities. You already know that; your commitment to this effort is clear. That’s why you’re here.

Over the next two days, you will have numerous opportunities to spend time with others who share your commitment. Please take this time to both sharpen and broaden your skills to better serve all of your students. They will benefit enormously, as I’m sure each of you will as well.

To our hosts at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, I extend sincere gratitude for all of their efforts and dedication to make this a successful event. And to the attendees, I want to say thank you for dedicating the time to participate in the summit. Please take full advantage of this opportunity to learn, to network, and to grow both professionally and personally.

I appreciate what you are doing on behalf of the more than 100,000 students who attend the State System universities, all of whom will benefit in some way from what you learn here and take back to your campus.

Sincerely,

Frank T. Brogan
