Students, welcome to the fall 2020 semester at IUP! In reaction to the dangers of COVID-19, the IUP Post Office has been working on a plan to keep our students as safe as possible. Here's what you need to know:
Your mailing address is:
(Your Name)
Crimson Hawks # (your four-digit box number)
900 Maple Street
Indiana, PA 15705
Your four-digit mailbox number can be found by logging in to MyIUP, then access Personal Information, and then Mailbox Information.
Besides your four-digit mailbox number, you will not see a combination on this screen as in the past for your box (it should be showing you all zeros).
No student will be accessing their own mailbox.
This will eliminate possible issues of social distancing in the mailbox area of the post office.
All mailboxes have been assigned beginning with box #2301 and up. Those who previously may have had a mailbox in the 2001-2300range, your mailbox number has now been changed.
The following procedures are now in place at the IUP Post Office:
Only 10 (ten) individuals are permitted at a time in the lobby of the IUP Post Office. Please make sure you maintain social distancing in this area. We ask that you follow all signs and floor markings.
Face masks are required to enter the IUP Post Office. Entry and service will be refused if you do not have a mask on.
When it is your turn, you will present one of the IUP postal employees with your photo ID and tell them your four-digit mailbox number. The employee will then retrieve any mail/package notices from your mailbox to give to you at the front counter. Notices will still be sent when a package arrives for you and has been processed, ready for you to pick up via your IUP email. No notices are sent for first class mail. Please be sure that you make a habit of checking on a regular basis to see if you have received any mail.
Student mailbox access areas of the IUP Post Office have been blocked off.
Hand sanitizer will be available, and the door handles and counters will be cleaned frequently.
You will still be able to mail domestic letters, cards, packages from our facility. Only Crimson Cash, cash, or check (with photo identification) are accepted as payment types here at the IUP Post Office. No debit or credit cards accepted.
International Mail:
International letters, cards, and postcards can be mailed from this facility.
International packages require that a customs form be done online. You are not able to do a customs form at this facility.
Two ways to ship International packages:
Do your own customs form online at USPS, print off and bring in for shipping.
Take what you're shipping to the main Indiana Post Office, 47 South 7th Street, Indiana, PA 15701. They are able to do the custom form online for you and are able to accept debit or credit cards.
Hours of operation remain Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:55 p.m. Closed Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
We look forward to serving you!
