Artist's rendering of Crimson Suites, Eberly Plaza perspective

A historic groundbreaking ceremony for Phase IV, the final phase, of the Student Residential Revival Project will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at a tent in front of the Eberly College of Business and Information Technology.

This project is directed by the Foundation for IUP and is a partnership between the foundation and the university. The Phase IV groundbreaking symbolizes the launch of the final stage of this $270 million student housing replacement project. It is the largest capital project of it kind in the nation, and it is transforming the way that students live and learn on the Indiana campus.

As part of Phase IV, the Governors Quad—Lawrence, Scranton, and Shafer halls—is being razed to make way for the Crimson Suites.

I am also pleased to inform you that the new Phase III housing facilities, Sutton Suites and the Suites on Pratt, are on schedule to open in August 2009.

I hope that you will be able to attend this exciting event to celebrate this special moment in the life and history of IUP.

Sincerely,

Tony Atwater, Ph.D.
President
