Khatmeh Osseiran-Hanna, IUP vice president for University Advancement Following a national search, Indiana University of Pennsylvania President Michael Driscoll has selected Khatmeh Osseiran-Hanna as the vice president for University Advancement at IUP.

“Ms. Osseiran-Hanna has done an extraordinary job as interim vice president, setting appropriately high expectations for all of us, working to build teams across the university, and increasing alumni and donor engagement with IUP,” President Driscoll said. “She rose to the top of a remarkably strong pool of candidates in our national search for our next vice president, and I am very pleased that she'll be working on behalf of the IUP family going forward.”

Osseiran-Hanna joined the IUP community in the role of interim vice president for University Advancement on September 11, 2017. During her tenure, the university announced several transformative fundraising accomplishments:

  • Fundraising totaling $53 million toward a comprehensive campaign with a goal of $75 million (the original campaign goal was $40 million prior to her arrival);

  • The university's largest-ever one-time gift of $23 million from alumni John and Char Kopchick;

  • The completion of fundraising for the required Department of General Services' $7 million match to begin construction of the university's new science building with an additional $2 million gift from Tim and Deb Cejka; and

  • Three $1 million or more gifts to the university.

“Western Pennsylvania, Indiana, and the IUP community have been an incredibly welcoming environment, with awesome alumni who believe in their alma mater and want to pay it forward to the new generations passing through our doorways,” Osseiran-Hanna said.

“In the few months that I have been here, I am amazed at the strong leadership of President Driscoll and my colleagues, and that of the Council of Trustees, the IUP Foundation Board of Directors, and the IUP Alumni Association Board of Directors.

“The wonderful students that we serve, as well as the engagement and dedication of the faculty and staff, and that of the great team in the division of University Advancement have led to so much excitement to our public launch of the Campaign for IUP. Most of all, working within a community that truly cares about the region and its positive impact on our nation and the globe makes my job all the much easier. There is great momentum at IUP today, and we have only just begun to Imagine the Unlimited!”
