Following a national search, Chris Noah, an award-winning marketing, communications, and branding professional with more than 20 years of experience, has been selected as the chief marketing officer at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Noah will begin his work at IUP on July 23.
The IUP chief marketing officer is responsible for the strategic leadership and management of a university-wide integrated marketing and communications division. In this role, Noah will report directly to the president, and his division will take the lead in marketing the work of the university's efforts to advance the strategic goals, mission, and vision of the institution.
“I'm extremely pleased to have Chris join the IUP leadership team,” IUP President Michael Driscoll said. “He brings a wealth of experience with strategic marketing and branding that will serve this university well.
“IUP has an incredible story to tell; I've talked about the need for ‘shameless bragging' for several years, and I feel confident that Chris can lead this new division, and our university community, in the marketing and public relations efforts that this university needs and deserves.”
Noah has a broad base of experience in the private sector on major branding and communications efforts for clients including Bank of America, ExxonMobil, Morgan Stanley, and Citi. He has also worked to rebrand companies facing challenges and communications issues.

Noah's work experience includes:
- Executive vice president for Publicis Advertising, which included an award-winning “double cash” campaign for Citi;
- Managing director of Integrated Marketing and Advertising for Morgan Stanley;
- Executive vice president for BBDO Advertising, where he led integrated marketing campaigns for both Bank of America and ExxonMobil;
- Senior director at Y&R Advertising, directing advertising and branding efforts for both LG Electronics and Sony Electronics;
- Global senior account director for EURO (now Havas), leading the development and launch of the “Blue Man Group” campaign for Intel's Pentium III and Pentium 4.
Noah is a Pittsburgh native, where he began his advertising and marketing career working for several area agencies.
He has a degree from Susquehanna University and is currently completing a graduate degree program at Stony Brook University. He and his wife, Kathy, have three sons.
