Susanna Sink has been appointed as the interim vice president for Administration and Finance, effective December 1, 2018. Her appointment follows the departure of Cornelius Wooten, who begins work today as vice chancellor of Administration and Finance at North Carolina Central University.
Sink has held her permanent assignment as the associate vice president for Finance since March 2006. She has more than 34 years of experience in fiscal operations of higher education. She began her career at IUP in 1985 and has held appointments as the director of Grant and Special Fund Accounting, assistant director of Budget Planning, director of Fiscal Affairs, and she served a previous appointment as the interim vice president for Administration in 2008. She is a finance graduate of IUP.
“Susie's long tenure at IUP, as well as her previous work as interim vice president, will serve IUP well,” said IUP President Michael Driscoll. “It is hard work to keep IUP's finances and facilities in tip-top shape, and I'm confident that Susie has the experience, expertise, and leadership ability to keep IUP on the right path.”
“For the last decade, Cornelius has been a steadying presence, guiding us through challenging times,” Driscoll added. “I will miss his rock-solid ethical compass and his ingenuity. I wish him and his family all the best.”
A search committee for the position will be appointed soon. To accelerate IUP's work in redesigning ways of doing business, university leadership will engage external support during this interim period.
