I am sorry to share news of the recent passing of Sara Abdulqadir Gifford, a third-year doctoral student in the Department of English’s Literature and Criticism program.
Sara, of Dillsburg, died as a result of a car accident in Latimore Township, Adams County, on December 22, 2023.
Sara began her studies at IUP in fall 2021. In July 2023, she began work as the assistant director of International Student Services at Gettysburg College.
The death of someone you knew can evoke strong feelings. The best way to cope is to talk to your closest friends, family members, or trusted teachers. There are people among us who have experienced similar events, and they are often more than willing to help others going through difficult circumstances.
