Julie Ankrum (Professional Studies in Education) and colleague Liz Harkins wrote an article to describe how the Disability Studies in Education framework can support teachers as they develop inclusive lessons integrating diverse instructional texts.
The article, “Using Disability Studies in Education (DSE) for Effective Literacy Instruction,” is published in the Journal of Adolescent & Adult Literacy. The journal highlights research-based practices aimed at improving literacy engagement and achievement in middle-level, high school, and adult learners.
